This is not correct. I’ve been told by the check in staff thst on all flights from Heathrow and Gatwick and all UK domestic departures you can check in your hand luggage even if you don’t get the text/email.

I understand the issue s Sue is from European airports you can only check in bags if you get the email or text.

Whilst it’s no guarantee I’ve received the email on 100% of my last departures from MAdrid and Frankfurt.
