I remember someone telling me that UK EC didn't have the upgrade benefit before. Now, they are leaping ahead of the US EC benefit.

What else does 2,400 points get? (In the US, for a return upgrade, it requires 40,000 miles which is equivalent to an economy ticket from US to Europe.)

Also, I just came back from using an upgrade ticket from Economy to Club on a full-fare ticket! The good news is that BA credited me for Club World tier points and also gave me the 25% class of service bonus! Now that is better than any US airline would offer.

Btw, did you get anything special for reaching 3000 tier points? I went just over 3000 last year and got nothing special. Still haven't even received my companion certificate yet!!!
