Once in the early 1990s, I put an open beer through the X-ray machine at VKO. My Russian colleagues and I were boozing it up in the “foreigners lounge” and had just cracked open our beer cans when the flight was called. The security check there was right before you got into the waiting area for boarding, so we walked down there with our beverages, put them through the X-ray to get into the boarding area, and made it onto the plane with them, too
