Hello,
I recently did this trip in business class:
- FCO (Roma) to GRU (Sao Paulo) Alitalia
- GRU (Sao Paulo) to SCL (Santiago) with Latam
- SCL (Santiago) to GRU (Roma) with Alitalia
This was only one ticket number, that seemed to be issued and owned by Alitalia.
I redeemed my Alitalia flights on my Flying Blue FF without any problem.
I asked Iberia to redeem my Latam flight (OneWorld) on my Iberia Plus FF, but they refused. They said:
We would like to inform you that unfortunately it will not be possible to credit the Avios into your Iberia Plus account because for that specific Airline owner of the ticket (ALITALIA) is not a Oneworld partner, even though the flight is operated by LATAM that it is a partner of the Oneworld, as established in the conditions of Iberia Plus, if the airlines that own the ticket is not a member, it would not matter who operated the flight, the ticket would not credit Avios.
So from what I understood, because the ticket was sold by Alitalia, I can't redeem my miles from my Latam flight.
What can I do about this Latam flight miles? Should my Flying Blue FF accept this flight miles?
Thank you in advance!
