OK, so the card does do MSD mode after all but cardpeek has to send TTQ that indicates that EMV mode isn't supported. That solves that mystery. I guess we'll have to wait until at least the next replacement for banks to consider not including support.

I would imagine they would get it eventually. The supposed 100 million cards by the end of the year might be mostly Chase cards, though, so either the others are just going to replace them as they expire or only a few card products will get it to start. Of course, it's possible that banks might end up blowing through Visa's estimate too.
