One side of my brain does find a certain amusement in this and I can see why you look back with seemingly fond memories !
The other side, however, is thinking that someone in BA F class for the very first time (with perhaps a worrying level of excited anticipation) could, understandably, have a very different perspective - especially if they had been looking at ba.com which waxes lyrical about the “
indulgent and delicious à la carte menu designed by leading chefs from around the world”
In principle I tend to agree with your view that there can be something endearing about this sort of direct but honest approach by CC. I guess the key point is whether or not the CC concerned has sufficient judgement and discretion to sense which passengers may be relaxed about such comments ; and which may find them inappropriate at best, or offensive at worst.
