I recall seeing Icelink installation pictures from an X5 in which they put the cradle in the little covered change tray thing on the center console. It seemed like the ideal solution to me because you can just slide up the cover when you leave the car and not have to worry about the iPod being a tasty target. I'll take a look later tonight and see if I can find the pics.
