The only times I have used a Cabin Plus, on US domestic, is on Boeing 737-8 or Max (Southwest, American and United) variants of airframes.

I do not use the Cabin Plus on Airbus A319/20/21/neo (Delta, JetBlue, American) airframes because the bins are not large enough to load/unload with ease.

Any Embraer, Bombardier or other "shuttle" airframes (All US legacy carriers) are an automatic gate-check. I do not even bother fantasizing of looking foolish trying to take carry-on luggage that is clearly oversized for the smaller airframes.
