The ticket was bought directly through British Airways. Their website,
www.britishairways.com, to be precise. I took the e-ticket option (I have a fear of slaughtering trees across the world, and the travel industry is definitely one of the biggest paper consumers on the face of the earth).
Under the fare options First, Club, Economy (flexible), Economy (lowest), I chose the last and that is how I fell into this predicament.
My e-ticket receipt does not document the actual letter-code of the fare, unfortunately.
For Shareholder's benefit, and that of all: Beware of this Economy (lowest) option!
