The North-American scheme does, though, allow for miles on any BA flight, regardless of the purchase price. The higher the price, though, the more tier points (as opposed to miles) you are able to collect. Which tier you belong to affects the multiplier of the actual miles flown. Blue = 1, Silver = 1.5, Gold = 2 (I'm not sure of the last as I've never become golden over the years).
I think the difference between the European and the North-American plans comes about because of more competition in the American market.
So the question unfortunately remains: Is there any way I can have the miles credited to my EC acct?
