No, Tim's right. I was in a similar position last year, sent a message outlining my history and got an (almost) immediate response, an apology and a correction. I seem to be jinxed in the IHG system, and trying to set things right is not something I want to go through every year. My volume of business will see me comfortably into the top tiers of Hilton or Marriot. Or both


The downgrade message was a tad brutal in delivery. But the one-year complimentary Ambassador membership offered is truly a classy touch. In value terms its rather less than a coffee for each of my stays in an intercontinental last year.
