The regular SPG Amex card has had tap-to-pay for at least five years. The tap-to-pay emblem was on the back of the card until recently so it may not have been noticed by cardholders. I recently upgraded to the Luxury card and yes it also has tap-to-pay.
Interesting. I’m looking at my SPG personal AmEx card which was first issued in 2017, and there is no such symbol on either the front or the back of the card. Not that I care for the feature from a security perspective, and would not regard it to be an upgrade of any sort (I wonder if it can be declined?).
