But in this case it sounds like the member will be present as well. I have never seen a property check who was occupying which room, so switching up should not be a problem. When booking multiple rooms, I will usually survey each assigned room and decide which one I like best and go with that (not always the biggest). The only issue that might arise if they get locked out of their room the front desk should not give them new keys (I usually carry a spare key just in case).

What is totally at the property's discretion is whether they will grant an upgrade to the second room. It is not required by the T&Cs, but as many have posted it happens most times.
