I know hotel only has to extend benefits to the one room the Platinum member is staying in, however, in this situation customer gets to decide which of the two rooms they are staying in.
Not sure if that would work as SNAs are considered non-transferable. So the Platinum member should be in the room that was upgraded with an SNA. Your best bet might be to request an adjacent room to the suite and you can share the living room area. I've done that a few times with great success.
