Sat 1/19/19 - Filled out application online and scheduled for appointment at EWR on 1/24

Sun 1/20/19 - Received email reminder of appointment

Thu 1/24/19 - Went to airport for appointment. Took about 5 minutes from Hello to Goodbye. Asked for necessary documents and credit card, verified application information, took fingerprints and picture.

Fri 1/25/19 - online application status changed to Eligibility Determined and letter will be sent in 10 days.

Sun 1/27 - received email on a Sunday at 11:39am (yes...Sunday!) with application approval and link to check my status. Logged in and was able to see my assigned KTN number!

PRETTY FAST! Especially all this taking place during the Government shutdown!!... not sure if this helps, but when I initially filled out the application online, there were earlier dates for appointments via service centers, but I chose the airport, just thinking might as well go there, maybe processing time will be faster?
