Stayed 3 nights in November 2017 using points. There was a big celebration in the city for turning on the Christmas lights (we had not planned for this) and everything was very busy - the hotel proved a very good choice.

Other posts have covered how good the location is - close to an airport bus stop, almost next to the cathedral and walking distance to all the major sights in Malaga. Friendly front desk staff. We were given a room with a balcony facing the port - a nice upgrade, except that the balcony was filthy (it was covered in thick layers of dust - it must not be getting a lot of usage in November).

About the rooftop bar: it is open to the public and it's popular. Visitors need to buy a ticket right after they cross the hotel main entrance and a couple of evenings we had to clarify we are hotel guests when we returned. The number of outside visitors also meant a long wait to take an elevator up. Hopefully the situation has improved since our visit.
