Maybe so, but it works. There are so many places where the site is lacking basic functionality that "fixing" something that works should be a pretty low priority. Plus, if they try to fix it, who knows what fresh horrors they'll create. Kind of like slapping a new design over top of a clunky old website and then finding out it works even worse than the previous version.....
