Hi all, flying to Europe tomorrow and trying to secure an upgrade to Polaris. I wasn't able to use a GPU (K fare class not upgradable? I'm new to GPUs, seems like a rip off) but weeks ago bit the bullet and did a Miles (20,000) and Copay ($500) to upgrade my seat. Only waitlist was available, so I figured I might clear - it was my best shot. Fast forward to today, and I haven't cleared yet. I checked in and... nothing. I didn't get added to the upgrade list. I called the 1K line and after a while on hold, the agent said I would have to inform the gate agent to add me if I hadn't appeared on the list.

This seems wrong. I know they clear people before 24 hours before the flight, and I'm almost certain I've been rolled over into the upgrade list upon check in before in this scenario. Why didn't it happen this time? Did they lose my upgrade? They certainly charged my credit card weeks ago, and debited my miles. The biggest thing that tipped me off is the 1K agent put me on hold for several minutes, because she was unsure of what she was looking at. Usually the agents know right away, or only put you on hold if they need to go around the system. I was pretty surprised when she came back and basically told me there was nothing she could do.
