If they indeed do announce I would expect nothing but JFK maybe twice daily, BOS would be a wildcard as it's been several years since GSO has had that service. DL would likely counter a JFK announcement as they have been on that route twice over the years. LGA and EWR have always been the preferred NYC airports here. I can't speak to DEN as the last time UA considered adding it was pre-9/11. Our station manager at the time refused it as it was going to be Saturday only and would have to hire more ground staff. Looking at F9 and their lack of success at less than weekly service would in my mind preclude United's entry. The airport authority confirmed in late December F9 would not be returning in 2019. United has started upgrading some flights to ORD and EWR with 70 seaters lately. It's sad as I remember my days of working all mainline to ORD and 7 flights to IAD. Spirit's numbers continue to look good month to month, here's to hoping they remain successful as that would go along way in attracting additional service from other carriers.
Thanks for that update. GSO info seems to be rare here. I was just surprised to read that DL might be considering JFK at the moment...if you hear anything like that, let us know! Also, that's great news about NK doing well; I was wondering if the RDU announcement meant that they were unhappy with GSO.
