Was at the Fairmont this past weekend (for the second time since last January). Seaweed was not an issue, and the sea was much more turquoise/blue than it was last year, so it was great! Also, I remember the beach pool being cold last year, but it was not the case this year. I'm not sure if it's heated now, but it was much more comfortable, and probably even warmer than the main pool in the lagoon area.
We ate breakfast at both La Laguna and Las Brisas. La Laguna's buffet was $35 while Las Brisas, which included a much smaller buffet but you could order a cooked-to-order item from a set menu, was $40. I felt the value was much better at La Laguna, especially considering the omelet station and the freshly made items from the quesadilla stand.
Last year, we missed seeing the Cenote Burrodromo on the Mayakoba property, and this year, it was closed for "studying." I guess we'll have to go back and visit again! I'm going to miss those suite upgrade certificates, though.
