I added my lap infant to my Aeroplan award on Swiss. I called Swiss reference the Swiss PNR and they confirm they can indeed see the infant ticket (infant doesn't show up in Swiss's Manage My Booking).

So Swiss confirms lap infant does have a ticket (I can see the ticket numbers on Aeroplan.com) BUT the lap infant is not "attached" to adult's booking and they are asking me to contact travel agent (Aeroplan) to attach the infant to the adult.

Does anyone know what Swiss means by "attaching" lap infant to adult ? ?

I asked Swiss agent if non-attachment will prevent child from traveling he said: no, it can be arranged at airport.
