Anecdote: In my first week as GS this year UA pro-actively re-booked me after a connection cancellation while I was in flight and I got a car transfer to a plane that they held for 20 minutes past departure time (closed the door behind me). Ended up being the last flight out to my destination for more than 24 hours (on a Friday no-less). My wife didn't consider me getting home early on Friday instead of 30 hours late on Saturday a "miniscule" improvement.
