I believe you'd be on the list in this situation but I've never actually done it. You certainly should be on the upgrade list.
Splitting would allow you to be upgraded 1 at a time though. If not split it would skip over you if only 1 seat opens up. This could be problematic of they release U space 1 at a time, since you would be repeatedly skipped.
