From 00:01 to 05:00 :-
During the core period (from midnight until 0500 hours) only mail flights and surveying
flights by German Air Traffic Control are automatically permitted. Exceptions are made for emergency and assistance flights, landings for air safety reasons and individual flights for good cause as approved by the responsible authority,
Is a late take off a "good cause"???
My heart sinks when I'm faced with the term responsible authority from time to time under UK statutes. In this case-in-point, over in Germany, somehow BA have to not only find a responsible authority but be somehow confident they are dealing with the responsible authority. Sounds like mis-communications played a part.
Interesting thread on the whys and wherefores at MUC and elsewhere.
