In general the approach to SFO is from the south east over the Bay, about 70% of the time (Runway 28L/28R) . Take off is either 1L/1R or 28L/28R.

During the late autumn and winter times, when we have storms, approach is often from the north east (Runway 19L/19R). My house is in Alameda, which is the island in front of Oakland and puts it under the approach then.

We also get sometimes noise from OAK, when they take off the usual way and do sharp right turns over Alameda but that is rare.
