So, an update -- they followed up with a phone call telling me that it's not possible I was offered the $125 compensation because I'm not an elite MP member... I should have only been offered $50. Then they followed that up with another email "oops, I see you were flying in paid business class... so $50 wasn't right... but you still should have only offered you $75."
