I've noticed very odd things with quite a few LH Group revenue fares and ITA. However I've not been able to find a consistent pattern.

Availability on ExpertFlyer for example does not seem to reliably match the booking classes that ITA comes up with for a valid itinerary.

From what I've been able to deduce, the LH Group makes substantial use of Point of Sale availability features.

Canada seems to be the market (not the US) that I've found to most closely match what ITA shows. Try plugging things into United.com - I've had success there in the past.
