1/21/2019 9PM Eastern I Called Citi and asked for annual fee waiver on my AA Gold $50 fee. Had card for 4 years probably $4000 spend last year. Rep Said No waiver because fee is for benefits that goes with the card. I asked for a waiver if say I do a spend within certain timeframe. Rep Said no but wish he could. I asked for any offers and he said no offers on my account. I said didn't want to pay the fee, so cancel my card. He said ok and would transfer me to cancellation dept to verify. I said fine. Cancellation department said I understand you want the annual fee waived. I said yes and he said he would credit back $50 fee after $1000 spend in 3 months. I asked for any additional miles for that. He took awhile and came back and said no. I asked for how about $500 spend in 3 months. He said no offer for that and $1000 was the minimum and $50 credit. I said ok.
