I was under the impression - perhaps in error - that the £10 phone booking fee did not apply when booking something that was not possible on the BA website.

Several times, I've booked ex-Eurozone flights over the phone so that I could pay in GBP (so that I was not liable for an FX fee). But yesterday evening, I tried to do the same and was told that booking eurozone flights in GBP was not grounds for the £10 charge being waived and that I should have always been charged the £10 previously.

So in the end I booked via ba.com, but I don't know if I was fobbed off OR if I had simply been lucky previously.
