Why is it that ExpertFlyer consistently shows 4-9 open Z seats on KLM operated flights for the routes I want but Delta twitter keeps saying there is no available upgrade space? I believe I'm searching correctly (i.e. the entire route and not just each segment separately, Business - Upgrade with DL SWU/Global Upgrades & Fare Class (Z), etc.
Am I missing anything?
Remember the "married segments" rule. The Z inventory must be available when searching from the start and end point of the KLM operated itinerary. For example, if you are flying KUL > AMS > JFK and the entire route is Delta-marketed but KLM-operated, then Z inventory has to show when searching KUL > JFK. It doesn't matter whether or not available on the individual segments.
