Do you want a bigger seat (Scoot), or better odds you actually get to Bangkok on the day you're scheduled (TG). That's really what this comes down to.

Scoot only has the one daily flight, so as mentioned above, it's likely at least a 24 hour delay if there's a cancel. TG has five daily from Tokyo flights, and a close relationship with NH for rebooking.
