You are right about my profile as I fly SkyTeam 99.99% of the time and usually I'd do a one-stop on a SkyTeam carrier, e.g. CI via TPE or KE via KE. But in this instance I just want a quick direct flight and both the TR and TG schedules are very similar and perfect for this trip. TG economy gives me no priority anything and I've no Star Allaince status, but from reading a ScootBiz review that doesn't give any priority queuing on the ground either through passport control/security only at the ScootBiz check-in counters and aircraft boarding.

BKK is a little further to travel to/from than DMK for where I'm staying in Thailand, the MRT & Airport Link train make BKK easy enough to reach.
