My last eBay purchase to purchase some Verizon refill cards was coded as Telecommunications, which would have been excluded. I also purchased contact lenses online a few months ago that coded as Opticians, which also would have been excluded. My tax payments, insurance payments, and online payments for all of my daughter’s activities (swimming, gymnastics, lunch money top-up, etc.) would also be excluded.
I am surprised to hear that eBay isn't categorized as "online" purchase. If BA is really picky about categorization, it can literally classify everything purchased online in B&M categories (ie: macys.com as department store, bestbuy.com as electronics, etc.). What would then be considered online shopping? I can understand how making online payments for services do not qualify, but to categorize online purchase of contact lenses as "opticians" sounds too restrictive to me.
