It's nicely remodeled but recognition is scant. No recognition at check in. No upgrade. Front desk didn't even seem to know what Globalist meant. Had to literally argue with the front desk supervisor to get them to cover my breakfast (they said I had to choose the buffet and when I pointed out the T&C's say otherwise they relented). Not in Dallas.. in a northern suburb. Plan on an hour to downtown in traffic.
Other than the renovation, that's disappointing to hear; this place was always one of the most rewarding properties. I can remember when $60-70/night on the weekends got you roughly 4,000 points, breakfast buffet, 2 drinks and appetizers at the bar, plus whatever promo was going on at the time. Those were the days. I would always go out of my way to stay here even when I needed to be downtown. On most mornings, as long as you avoided the 8:30-9:30am and 4:30-6pm rush, the drive was around 20-30 minutes.
