I've stayed at the same Home2 several times over the last few years. I really like it and prefer it to a Homewood - primarily for the lighter, more contemporary aesthetic. Think Crate & Barrel/CB2 vs Ethan Allen.
The breakfast is VERY self-serve - you can get some items out of the fridge/freezer in the breakfast area and heat them up yourself. It works for me - I like minimal human interaction.
The only reason I don't stay at them more often is because of the reduced point-earning.
