Some hotels will merge, annoyingly. ANA Tokyo often does. You're right, though, in THEORY they should post as separate stays. I'm just not sure if they'd get picky if you're trying to circumvent the $200 limit.
let's hope the hotels that have been generous to RA's in past continue in the same spirit, and not pay too much attention to the fine print, and continue to get the repeat business from their RA guests, and the word of mouth benefit.
whilst the tight properties get less and less RA's over the years, and get the negative word of mouth.....
