I've lost count of the properties that do have the separate line (carpet and/or sign) but failed to staff the desk. Many times I've stood at the desk and seen the other agents look over but not say a word if someone would be coming over or if I should get in the regular line. I have played the DYKWIA card and called the hotel while standing at the desk asking if anyone was going to be working the desk. Sometimes I get a manager apologizing saying one of the other agents should have come over or called for more help. Ok, failures happen and I have no issues with a non-confrontational discussion. There are times I feel like I am a mystery guest checking to see how a property performs. How do I sign up to be one?
