Thanks so much for this detailed report. After reading this, I was eager to book a week for my family on points but they charge $60/per child over 3 yo. $120/night for my 4 and 5 yo seems like a poor use of points so I'm thinking of returning to Rose Hall Hilton in Jamaica which would only charge us for one kid (kids over 6 and older) next year.

Are there any hiking or sightseeing opportunities off of the resort or decent snorkeling off the beach? I've never traveled to the DR, thanks for the info!
