I flew W on CX to SYD last week and I’d say their Premium Economy is on a par with BA if not better. You will however get better drinks on BA if that’s your thing. No matter what class of travel when flying long haul, I’d strongly recommend a lounge visit for a shower and change of clothes. The BA ‘direct’ to SYD doesn’t really allow long enough in SIN unless you swap planes.

If only the flights in to SYD got there later in the day I think it’d be an okay journey. The trouble with getting to SYD early in the morning is you’ve got to try and tough out the whole day upon arrival after doing 2 overnight flights. That said I didn’t find jet lag a problem at all, got straight to sleep and slept right through each night.
