Stuff happens, and thankfully our power grid in the United States is incredibly reliable. Things happen, even something as simple as a car accident that happens to impact a transformer (those green heavy gauge metal things) on the side of the road.

Also, your phone will keep a charge longer if you avoid doing more than you have to. I'd put FT on the list of things that aren't a priority if I think the power will be out for a significant time. Clients and family calls, nothing else.
