My partner forgot about GE renewal and their membership will expire in early February. Is it possible to use GE after expiration while awaiting an interview scheduled at a later date (assuming one is required to do another interview)? Or, must one complete all steps of renewal, interview included, before the expiration date?

I understand the government shutdown has closed the application centers...how would this factor in?
