Contrasting Experiences...Hyatt Regency DFW

I am a Marriott Loyalist. I can't really think of the last time I didn't stay at a Marriott-except for a timeshare. Anyway, Friday we are staying at the DFW Hyatt Regency-late arrival The Grand Hyatt was too much $$!. Two rooms-us, daughter, son in law and two grand children (4 and 9). I reserved two rooms and requested rollaways. Below are two unprompted communications from the property before my arrival. I am hypersensitive with Marriott now as my BP rises when I think about having to call Marriott and navigate that voice menu-after being a LTP and years of immediate answered calls. Frustrations chasing reservations corrections that have quadrupled in points and gone from cancelable to non-cancelable and much, much more. (I realize this is property vs corporate, but what a breath of fresh air to feel appreciated by a brand I rarely use.)

1) (First email from Director of operations.) Dear Mr. Vker,

Good afternoon from Hyatt Regency DFW. We are looking forward to your arrival and caring for you at “your home away from home” during your travels.

It is an honor and pleasure to have you as our guest and we hope that your upcoming stay with us will be everything you expect and more. Please let us know if you have any preferences to add to your World of Hyatt profile so that we can better personalize your experience during your visit.

If we can be of any assistance before, during or following your stay with us, please text us any time.

In the meantime, thank you for your continued business and loyalty to Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.

My best,

2) (Regarding rollaways for the grandkids)
Good Evening Mr. Vker,

I am reaching out after speaking with Jessica and she passed your request to myself and I am seeing that you have booked two of our runway view king rooms, would you like me to have these connecting for you or near each other? I also see the request for the roll away beds in the room. I will ensure that this request is met for you. Please reach out to myself if there is anything more that I can assist with prior to your arrival or if you have any other special requests prior to arrival.

Hi Christopher: Thank you for the fantastic service. YES! Connecting would be great with rollaways in each for the grandkids. We really appreciate your attention to this and helping us.

Best regards

Good Morning Mr. Vker,

Perfect I will set you up on a night high floor with connecting rooms. Would a room with 2 queen beds connecting to a room with a king be more comfortable than the roll aways for your grandchildren? Also is there any little treats that your grandkids enjoy that I can surprise them with in the room?

Regards,

Christopher

(My wife responded with some ideas that they would like.)

Ms. Kagler,

I will ensure that this is accommodated and that you are all set for your stay. I look forward to welcoming you to the property and hope you have safe travels on your way in. Please let me know if there is anything more I can assist with.

Regards,

Christopher
