Great post SEA_Trigger,

I don't think anyone here is happy about seeing perks taken away, but I still think many of the recent changes make a lot of sense.

--Not happy to see more seats installed, but flying 40 airplanes around with unused closet space doesn't make sense. Personally, I wish they would have taken out the closets in order to increase legroom (a la JetBlue), but their decision does not surprise me. As long as the seats aren't hot pink, I really don't care what they look like.

--The system of unlimited upgrades for Golds was destined to become a victim of its own success, and I'm glad they decided to restructure the system before it began to break down. I wish they would go back to issuing a limited number of non-transferable upgrade certs to MVPs and Golds, but I can't fault the new system too much, as I've had reasonable success with upgrades.

--I have benefited from the new fare structure. I'm sorry that more people don't feel this way. While I miss the bargain deals sometimes offered, I don't mind paying a more "reasonable" fare. Thankfully, I don't travel to/from Alaska much. While I would never purchase an F-fare, I feel better that F fares aren't quite the rip off they used to be.

--DigEplayers are a win for the company and for passengers (only wish they would load more on the flights they are on)
