And the answer is...
The A320 flying 496/497 (LHR--LIS-LHR) had no power.

On a seperate and related note, the 747 I was on last night from BOS to LHR had a spare adapter for F which I was able to borrow to fully charge my DVD player (which then provided me 1.5 movies...).
