So is WestJet really a low fare carrier?

Have had to do some bookings for crew members and consistently found the WestJet came up with the highest fares on the city pairs I was checking out, with JetsGo being best, and AC following up. All bookings were for next week and thus all AC's TANGO fares were gone, but a few FUN fares have shown. JetsGo had similar fares on its flights, but certainly none of the $129s to YVR from YYZ. And none of WestJet's were under $600 one-way. Ended up opting for the premium seat on JetsGo which was about $100 less than AC's FUN fare, and $200 less than WestJet's cheapest available offerings.

Of course, this does suggest that both AC and WestJet have fuller planes than does JetsGo. So I shall be curious to hear from these travellers how full their flights turn out to be.

Still, the main point is that on Last Minute bookings -- i.e. within a week of travel -- WestJet is not really the LCC it pretends to be. So I wonder how many business types have been duped into thinking it does offer the lowest fares? The same way they think AC always has the highest fares.
