Given the luggage allowance on a J ticket*, I'd be putting all the bags into your name if at all possible, and trying to send spouse and kid via the airside channel.

I did think of doing this but with it being the first time at EBB not sure I would want to send my wife and infant wandering off trying to get airside transit by themselves.. I could potentially go through the airport the first time and see if it is viable and maybe for the second time send them by themselves
