SQ Codeshare Partner PNR withheld by SQ team
Hi All,
Asking a question for which I thought I had an answer but genuinely flummoxed now after a few calls to SQ call centre.
My in-laws are flying the following itinerary later this year as part of a wider trip:
SQ469 (CMB-SIN), connecting on to SQ4281 (NZ metal SIN-AKL, codeshared version of NZ281).
The entire trip is ticketed on SQ stock, and when I rang SQ to arrange seating for SQ4281 they refused to give me the Air NZ PNR; ok, fine HUCA then... I rang back 3 times, each time a different agent said that there was no separate PNR (side note, SQ PNR doesn't work on Air NZ) and that they never give out partner PNRs (lol wut), and that I should tell them what seats I want for SQ4281 and they will inform the NZ team. Seriously?
I've travelled enough to know this is stupid, they should have partner PNRs and should be able to share this. Don't think I've ever been told I can't receive a partner PNR.
Anyway...no harm no foul, I will call Air NZ, tell them the ticket number or combination of flights and get seated that way and also grab the PNR off of them, but man, way to make me work for it.
So my question, is this a thing SQ does for all partner flights codeshared as SQ? Or is this specific to SQ/NZ partnership, and has anyone else run into this issue with SQ? Specifically: withholding partner PNRs.
