Speaking as a fan of AS, I still find it a real shame that they took out the PTVs. I loved the VX Y seats and RED system and find the slimline Recaro Y seats uncomfortable on a transcon. I get that AS wanted to expand F seats/replace the old white recliners and add premium class, but all of that could have been accomplished while retaining the existing Y seats.
RED was great when it launched, but over time it became really meh to me. IMO the real shame is AS went with
these clips that really only hold iPads that you can't even buy anymore instead of
this mechanism that can securely hold anything from a phone to a Surface 3.
