In what could be an embarrassment for the country, four Air Namibia crew on flight SW722 were suspended Wednesday for drunkenness and delaying flight for about six hours.

The four whose names were not revealed went partying in Johannesburg on Sunday night and were caught when a random test was carried out on Monday morning.

As a result, flight722 was delayed and in the process other flights to Accra, Lagos and Luanda.

Sources said three of those suspended were cabin crew while the fourth was first officer. Another crew had to be sent to Johannesburg to fly back flight722.

Air Namibia spokesperson, Paul Nakawa, was not available for comment as his mobile phone went unanswered.
