If you are flying Cathay or Dragonair and using TWOV at PVG you may even get met at the gate on arrival at Shanghai and escorted all the way to the TWOV desk. It's a nice benefit
Cannot speak well of the Cathay Dragon check-in staff at PNH. I was flying PNH-HKG-PVG on Cathay, then PVG-HEL-LHR on Finnair two days later. The Cathay check-in staff at PNH were not well trained on TWOV. After 20 minutes of wasting time, some dude appeared and he confidently announced to us all that I would have been eligible if I had been flying PNH-PVG direct but as I was going via HKG, it was not possible. They wanted to check me to HKG only (which would have been tight as I had a checked bag) but they finally relented and checked me through to PVG. No issues on arrival in PVG (no help from Cathay either).
